  1. Hi,I'm going to be a brand new chicken mama and as I looked at your posts I was somewhat over whelmed! I am going to buy my baby chicks soon this month and I wanted to ask you if you can mix baby ducks with the baby chicks.

    1. Congrats on the new babies! You can keep ducklings and chicks together but it's usually a bit messy and I don't recommend it. Ducks love to play in their water and chicks don't do so well when they get all wet so its really best to keep them separate. Depending on where you live (I'm in Pa) I prefer to get chicks first, then after it warms up a bit outside I get the ducklings. That way I can put them in a crate outside on the grass on warm days to keep from changing their bedding several times a day! Ducks are so messy! Good luck with them!

  2. Hi, how much feed does a broiler from day old chick to the weight of 5,52lbs eat of sprouted fodder average and how long does it take to get to 5,52lbs

  3. I honestly do not know how much feed a broiler needs as I have not raised meat birds. I do know that a cornish cross takes about 8-10 weeks to reach butcher weight. Good luck with the butchering, it's a little weird the first time but you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.
