Which chicken books are you reading?

What better way to spend the lazy days of summer than reading up on chicken keeping? I have several chicken keeping books on my reading list and today I want to share them with you. I'm really big on learning new things and there are so many amazing chicken books out there written by fellow bloggers and other authors. It also helps that some of these are free...cause you know how much I love free stuff...especially when it comes to chickens! 

All of these books are available on Kindle but for those of you that prefer books, many can be ordered in paperback also! For us older folks who grew up with a paperback in hand, vacation reading just needs a 'real' book! Of course you might want to take a peek in your local retail or discount bookstore for secondhand books, cause why pay more? 

Even though I've been raising chickens for 10 years, I still learn from reading about chickens. I'm currently learning more about genetics and how certain disorders can run in family lines. My experience with Wry Neck in Chicks and wry tail in ducks is what started that interest. Not gonna lie, it's kinda boring. lol I promise you none of these chicken keeping books will be boring though!

If you've never read a kindle book I'll give you a super brief overview. It's an app that is available free on any smartphone, tablet or iPad. All you have to do is to use your Amazon account to 'purchase' these books. Some of the books will be free to everybody in Kindle form. Some of these books will only be free to those who have Kindle unlimited subscriptions and will have a purchase price for others. Still others will need purchased through Kindle or ordered in paperback form. 

If you need a Kindle Unlimited membership you can go here for the free 30 day trial. You have 30 days in which to use it free and read as much or as little as you'd like. After that you will be charged $9.99 a month, so cancel it if you do not want to keep it. I had it for several months and enjoyed it immensely. It's a great summer reading tool, since you can read so many books for the one low price.

Some paperbacks may be available in your local book store and MANY are available at Tractor Supply or other farm stores. I've done my best to pick books from authors I trust, books I've read and books that I feel offer you great advice to further your chicken keeping knowledge.
